Chesapeake Energy Corporation (NYSE:CHK) executive to head Marcellus Shale Coalition

    A previous Chesapeake Energy Corporation (NYSE:CHK) officer is all set to join Marcellus Shale Coalition as President. David Spigelmyer, who was working at CHK as Vice president lost his job due to a corporate restructuring.

    He will join the states most important association for the natural gas industry. He will be taking over the role from Kathryn Klaber, who has been the CEO since the group was formed 4 years ago.

    Mr. Spigelmyer states his intention of continuing to talk on the importance of of natural gas development in Pennsylvania, a chat that will include the ability of natural gas to stimulate the regrowth of manufacturing and the possible use of gas in transporting man, material. He added the state had grown from being a producer of 25 per cent of its gas usage to 10 per cent of what the entire country was using.

    The group which is located in Pittsburgh will work to make rules that make it work with fervor but also allow it to promote investment in the state. He has been a charter member and founded the group in 2009, as it became a leader in Natural gas in the state and country.

    CHK was a target of several investigations by the governing agencies and had to resolve a class-action lawsuit by paying $7.5 million as there were allegations that it had not paid the full value to leaseholders who alleged that the company was wrongly not paying them royalties. Though he is part of the groups intention to positively promote the industry, he refrained to say anything on his former companies cases and how they would affect the image of the industry as a whole.

    He lives in Clearfield County and passed out from Penn State University. Before working with Chesapeake, he worked for EQT Corp. and Dominion Resources. He is married to Francie and the couple have 2 sons.
