The US President – Donald Trump said Sundar Pichai, Chief Executive Officer of Alphabet Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL)’s Google and Alphabet, has called him today to apologize. It is not clear why Sundar apologized. Trump said he doesn’t know where the press received the fake news. He dropped the print out of the fake news and said you guys can understand how it got leaked. You will apologize. Trump said it would be nice if you could publish the right news.

Trump gives a pat for the Google communications team

Trump praised the communications team at Google for substantiating his comments on the coronavirus screening site on Friday. The president on Friday stated around 1,700 engineers at Google is working to create a screening site. It is not for the consumer rollout. Google has not clarified how many professionals are working on this screening site. Anyone can guess that 1,700 people are not required to build a screening site.

Trump thanked the team at Google for helping to create a website. They have developed the site very quickly, unlike in the past, to find out where to facilitate testing and whether the test is necessary. Trump said many locations are still behind. First, we need to cover the US and several parts of the world. However, we will not talk about the entire world right now. We will cover our nation now and all the stores in every location. He said 1,700 people at Google are working now and achieved tremendous progress.

Sundar issues an update

Sundar has issued an update to the blog post underlining the efforts of Google. He alleviated the confusion and explained what Google is doing to provide more information on Covid-19 and the virus to its valued users. Sundar also clarified that the Verily life sciences unit of Alphabet is working on to developing a screening site for the Bay area. It may roll out the site nationwide.

Vice President Pence Clarifies

Pence, the Vice President of the US, said Google will unveil a pilot version of the screening site on March 16, 2020, to facilitate testing in the Bay Area. However, Google later clarified that the teams are putting in two different efforts: Verily would introduce a pilot site for risk assessment of the individuals; Google provides Covid-19 details to its users.
