Boston, MA 10/10/2014 (wallstreetpr) – Bio pharmaceutical firm XOMA Corp (NASDAQ:XOMA) announced yesterday that it had initiated the phase 1 study of its drug candidate XOMA 358. The tests are expected to through more light on the effects that increasing doses of XOMA 358 could have on the level of Glucose and insulin levels in target individual who have been inducted into the tests. The target compound is being described as a “fully human, allosteric monoclonal antibody.” In spite of the positive development, the stock shed 7 percent of its market value yesterday. The stock was trading at $3.72 per share.
Ruckus Wireless, Inc. (NYSE:RKUS) announced on 9th October at the sidelines of the Wireless Broadband Alliance (WBA) Wi-Fi Global Congress that its flagship new product “Ruckus Hotspot 2.0 Online SignUp, Policy, and Subscription Management Server” would be certified to work with “Wi-Fi Alliance (WFA) Hotspot 2.0 Release 2 certificated gateways and access points”. Ruckus Wireless, Inc. (NYSE:RKUS) also shared that it is managing and supplying the NGH network at the ongoing WBA Wi-Fi Global Congress. NGH has been mandated by WBA to develop new monetizing models which could in turn help the commercialization of the recently developed Hotspot 2.0 technology. The shares of Ruckus Wireless, Inc. (NYSE:RKUS) surged upwards by nearly 11.72 percent yesterday after the public announcement by the company.
Chevron Corporation (NYSE:CVX) announced on 9th October that it has appointed Mary A. Francis as corporate secretary. She will also hold the duel responsibility of chief governance officer. The appointment is expected to become effective on May 1, 2015. She has been given overall responsibility of providing legal counsel to ‘board of directors and senior management” of Chevron Corporation (NYSE:CVX). She will also have oversight of the Corporate Governance Department of the oil major. Ms. Francis would be stepping into the shoe of Ms. Lydia I. Beebe who is slated to retire from the company services on 30th April after a three and half decade tenure.
