The Wet Seal, Inc. (NASDAQ:WTSL) Ready To Welcome A New Executive

Boston, MA 08/26/2014 (wallstreetpr) – The Wet Seal, Inc. (NASDAQ:WTSL), a $91 million specialty retailer, will officially add Christine Lee to its top leadership ranks next month – September 3. The company earlier announced the appointment of Lee and said she will take up her position as Executive Vice President and Chief Merchandising Officer in a few weeks’ time. She will be joining the company from Pacific Sunwear of California, Inc. (PSUN).

The changing landscape in the apparel retail world has meant that players must look to new strategies and add talents to their ranks to manage a successful turnaround, and that is what Wet Seal is up to in the hiring of Ms. Lee. As for Ms. Lee, she is almost a household name in the fashion retail industry, which can be explained with her solid track record and several years of experience. Such combination would be important for Wet Seal, Inc. (NASDAQ:WTSL) as the company tries to boost sales and improve the bottom line.

Ms. Lee served as a Senior Vice President at Pacific Sunwear, where she played a key role in the turnaround of the Women’s Apparel division through crafting of strategic approaches to repositioning of the unit. Prior to the assignment at Pacific Sunwear, she served for 18 years at Urban Outfitters, Inc. (URBN).

The management of Wet Seal, Inc. (NASDAQ:WTSL) expects Ms. Lee’s experience in the junior fashion and even her analytical leadership to be a tremendous asset for the company as it seeks a turnaround.

The Wet Seal has been trying to trace its footing the challenging apparel retail industry through more Wet Seal+ Plus stores. The stores provide shoppers with personal styling experiences, and they also stand a chance to win gift cards as they shop. The stores also offer free goodies and mini makeovers.

Boosting sales is the central agenda at Wet Seal, Inc. (NASDAQ:WTSL) and the company believes its attraction of the best talents in the industry, like Ms. Lee, will lend support to that effort.
