The Customers Of Verizon Communications Inc. (NYSE:VZ) Will Enjoy 25 Original Films, Documentaries Of Disney+ From November 12 For 12 Months Freely

Verizon Communications Inc. (NYSE:VZ) will roll out Disney+ on November 12, 2019. New and existing customers of Verizon’s 5G and 4gLTE networks can avail free service of Disney+ for 12 months. The free offer is also applicable to 5G Home Internet and Fios Home Internet customers. It is an excellent opportunity for Verizon to survive in a highly competitive business. Disney could increase its subscriber base by allowing Verizon customers to watch the original films and documentaries freely.

Streaming offers popular films

With the new offer announced by Verizon, the customers can save $84 a year considering the monthly subscription fee of Disney for Disney+ service. Millions of customers of Verizon will enjoy free access to streaming services that offer films from Star Wars, National Geographic, Marvel, Pixar, Disney, and well-known TV series.

In the first year of launch, Disney Plus would offer ten original films, over 25 original series, and documentaries. The promotional offer is aimed at Netflix, which has a subscriber base of 158 million since the launch twelve years back.

The realm of Netflix could face jitters in the future with the launch of cheaper alternatives by AT&T, Apple, Comcast, and Disney. The value of Netflix shares has declined by 3% after the announcement of Verizon on Tuesday.

The buyers of Mac Computer, iPhone, or iPad could avail the free streaming service of Apple with effective from November 1, 2019. Apple is offering cheaper monthly plans at $5 to take on Netflix’s popular monthly offer of $13.

Verizon rebranded Oath

Verizon has merged Yahoo, AOL, with Oath. The company later rebranded Oath as Verizon Media Group. Its investments in the media group have fizzled a lot. AT&T and Comcast own successful media properties. Establishing a relationship is a good thing for Verizon in the business sense.

Hans Vest Berg, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of Verizon, said the company is fulfilling its commitment to the customers by giving access to Disney+. The customers can enjoy watching premium content unlimited free for 12 months through this tie-up with Disney.

Disney will benefit a lot from 5G ultra-wideband technology because Verizon is bringing the latest technology to the entertainment field.
