Boston, MA 10/14/2014 (wallstreetpr) – High end network security solutions provider Fortinet Inc (NASDAQ:FTNT) announced on 13th October that it is launching a new flagship product called FortiGate-3810D. The firewall solution is expected to set a new bench mark amongst the security platforms, thanks to its ability to handle “100GbE interfaces and 300+ Gbps throughputs” which are observed in new age data centres today. The technology is built on the tried and tested “Fortinet’s FortiASIC Network Processor 6” platform. The new solution will allow users to attain “high speed appliance form factor” without resorting to reinvesting in chassis-based systems. The tech firm hopes to capture a larger slice of the carriers and data centre segment trough the launch of FortiGate-3810D.
Global retailing giant, Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) announced on 13th October that its paid up customers to its “Amazon Prime” program will get a sneak preview into the “Lightning Deals” catalogue before it gets available to general public via the Amazon.com web portal. Company has also disclosed that daily special discounts and sales offer being run on “MyHabit.comAmazon” would also be offered to its “Amazon Prime” members before hand. The announcement comes ahead of the extended holiday season which starts in the run up to Thanksgiving holidays and ends post the New Year holidays. The retailer hopes to lure more customers to sing up as Prime members, since it entails users paying a monthly retainer fee to Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN). In return they get to pick on some great deals before general public.
Open source operating systems solutions provider Red Hat, Inc. (NYSE: RHT) announced on 13th October that it is going to expand its flagship online sales platform OpenShift Marketplace. This is a one stop shop for customers and Red hat enthusiasts to evaluate solutions being offered by the company with respect to cloud infrastructure. The platform was first launched in April of this year.
