Rite Aid Corporation (NYSE:RAD) Allows Customers To Donate To Desired Charity Through KidCents Program

Boston, MA 09/16/2014 (wallstreetpr) – Choosing a charity of your choice allows you to better devote and donate your time and money, respectively. Rite Aid Corporation (NYSE:RAD) has read the minds of its customers and brought out this change in charity. The company is taking charity to a new level by allowing its customers to make a choice of charity that they wish to donate. This shall be done through the in-store of Rite Aid, KidCents– a program supporting NPOs for health improvement of children. The customers are free to choose from any of the 204 approved charities of KidCents through the wellness+ program of Rite Aid.

$2 million Donations by Rite Aid

Rite Aid Corporation (NYSE:RAD) will donate $10,000 checks for the 204 inaugural charities of KidCents. This will sum to more than $2 million donations, over the week that started yesterday.

In this regard, the Chief Operating Officer and President of Rite Aid, Ken Martindale will assist in launching the week of donations. Two NPOs- Family Support and Leg Up Farm shall be facilitated with the check of $10,000 each. Mr. Martindale is also the Rite Aid Foundation president.

In the context with the charity organization, Martindale said that the customers, who make purchases with Rite Aid Corporation (NYSE:RAD) and round them up, shall be helping in serving to the community.

The Wellness+ Program

The Wellness+ Program of the company will allow the interested Rite Aid customers to participate in KidCents charity. By registering and creating their Wellness+ accounts, the customers will be able to seek further information regarding the approved charities. These customers can thereby select the charity of their choice from the list.

How will it work?

Once a customer creates an account with Wellness+, he/she can select a charity for the donation. With every purchase at Rite Aid Corporation (NYSE:RAD), the amount shall be totalled to the nearest round figure of dollar, and the change shall be deposited to designated charity.
