Nokia Corporation (ADR) (NYSE:NOK) Will Not Manufacture Android Phones

Boston, MA 12/23/2013 (wallstreetpr) – Nokia Corporation (ADR) (NYSE:NOK), the smart phone maker, is to be taken over by Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) in January. Peter Skillman, the chief User Interface (UI) designer of the company has shelved plans related to the making of smart phones and tablets that are based on Android operating system. According to the reports, the company would be concentrating on the making of wearable products and smart glasses that might show up in the market in the year 2015 or later.

Old reports

Previously, there were leaked news reports that indicate that Nokia Corporation (ADR) (NYSE:NOK) would create an Android based smart phone in spite of the fact that this Finnish company is going to be taken over by Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) in the near future. It was speculated that more than one android smart phone would be made by the company along with a 7 inch tablet that would also be based on Android. This news was not confirmed by any authorized official of the company, though.

New reports

According to the new reports, Nokia Corporation (ADR) (NYSE:NOK) will not be in a position to make any new smart phones or tablets for the next two years. This is the reason why the firm is focussing on the manufacture of smart glasses and wearable tech. These products can still be produced by the company under its name and style for the next two years.

The users of windows phone have finally got a much awaited update for Whatsapp, the messaging app. This update includes the feature of sending many pictures in a single message and also pre-recorded video can be uploaded now, which was not possible earlier. The other features of the update also include saving received videos, migration of Whatsapp account of the user to a new phone number and improvements in speed.
