Boston, MA 12/20/2013 (wallstreetpr) – Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) now has legal consent to use calendar synchronization, by the Washington Appellate Court. In contention was Motorola Mobility, now owned by Google Inc, and Microsoft on the issue of synchronization patent of the Microsoft calendar.
Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) has been pursuing across several issues that Google uses patents its hold on its Android mobile operating system. A few years ago, Microsoft had begun a licensing program for Android operating systems.
In the past few weeks, interesting unconfirmed news indicate that Microsoft’s new acquisition Nokia is also working on a version of an Android phone. This will be one of the competitively priced phone systems. However, Nokia will have to wait until 2016, to be able to sell other operating system handsets.
Surface 2 sold out
Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) is believed to have sold out on its stock of Surface tablets as well as Surface Pro 2 through its online store. Employee reports indicate that the retail stores of Best Buy and other stores, the tablet has sold out all units it held on its inventory.
Next CEO who?
Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) has yet to find its next CEO. While speculation about Mulally’s, currently CEO of Ford Corporation as the man short-listed have not been entirely scorched, the delay in making the announcement continues to thicken the plot for Microsoft. However, recent comments by Thompson from the Windows- OS maker revealed that Bill Gates was interested in an IT person who had the technical background and the expertise to handle the IT company. This may well work against Mulally who lack IT exposure.
However, analysts such as Sherlund predict that Mulally would have been the best thing to happen to Microsoft as he would be more synchronized with shareholders and offer quicker changes.
