Boston, MA 02/25/2014 (wallstreetpr) – Comcast Corporation (NASDAQ:CMCSA) and Netflix Inc. (NASDAQ:NFLX) recently announced content streaming deal. Remember that is besides the Comcast Time Warner merger proposal that is already generating a lot of talks of whether regulars would allow or reject the request. As regards Internet content streaming, Comcast will receive undisclosed payment from Netflix for high-speed streaming of its content through Comcast pipes. The deal signals a shift in content offering power, but more specifically would benefit moving-loving customers. Netflix is a giant in the Internet content offering while Comcast has the cable and broadband paths to relay quality content, so then, the two companies have described their deal as mutually beneficial. Comcast Corporation (NASDAQ:CMCSA) continues to go up, adding 0.20 percent to its value in the last session to perch up at $51.15.
Alcoa Inc (NYSE:AA): It was with great regret that Alcoa announced the shutdown of its Port Henry smelter in Geelong, Australia. The company stated that it will consider full consideration for the affected employees. But even as the community in Geelong mourns job losses and possible economic impact of the plant closure, Alcoa will celebrate in that it means continued reduction of troubles that have caused it losses. Alcoa wants to reduce its capacity by 17 percent when it finally makes the last move in the ongoing restructuring. The company is however turning its focus on plants that produce aluminum used in auto and aerospace industries. Alcoa Inc (NYSE:AA) gained 0.34 percent to close at $11.77.
EMC Corporation (NYSE:EMC) has had its “buy” rating at TheStreet reiterated. TheStreet also cites various strongholds in the stock such as earnings per share growth, attractive net income, expanding margins, good cash flow and revenue growth among several others. Thus, even if some weaknesses might be lurking in the stock, they cannot distract the positive outlook. The stock of EMC Corporation (NYSE:EMC) gained 0.75 percent in the previous session to attain $25.69 per share.
