Highpower International Inc (NASDAQ:HPJ) Offers Advanced Compact Lithium Battery For Timex Smart watches

Boston, MA 08/21/2114 (wallstreetpr) – Producer of rechargeable nickel-metal hydride batteries, Highpower International Inc (NASDAQ:HPJ) disclosed that it had commenced shipping of its advanced compact lithium battery that was purely developed for the newly launched Timex smartwatches.

Rechargeable Battery

The company stated that the rechargeable battery was a perfect fit for Timex Ironman One GPS+, which was a smartwatch providing consumers a stand-alone connectivity of wireless without a phone.

The smartwatches would be available from this fall for purchase at att.com, timex.com, and select electronic and sports specialty stores. Highpower International Inc (NASDAQ:HPJ) said that the wearables offer a stimulating area of growth for mobile devices. Therefore, smartwatches would be natural progressions from the existing applications to assist consumers further have a grip on wearable technology.

Management Speaks

Highpower Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), George Pan, said that the performance of battery, quality, and seamlessness of services would enable the company to compete for a fair batteries market share. He said that the company has been manufacturing flexible battery capable of applying its knowledge to a number of diverse markets. The initial order was a strong proof that its product offering was getting traction in the fast growing wearable device market.

Partnership With Andalay Solar

Separately, Highpower International Inc (NASDAQ:HPJ) said that it had struck an alliance with Andalay Solar to unveil a pilot project, which will give energy storage systems of technologically advanced means for Andalalay Solar customers apart from improving performance within the reasonable costing and viability.

The companies believe that the energy system would be a perfect bet for customers to cut down its utility grid bills by adopting a hybrid system or by going off-grid in view of the increased cost of the power grid. Highpower International Inc (NASDAQ:HPJ)’s energy storage system offers six 2.4KWh litium-ion battery modules apart from an output inverter enabling a more powerful energy load expandability and capacity.
