Global Resource Energy (OTC: GBEN), a company that focuses on the clean technology fuel cell sector, announced today that it is looking to fund at least one research program in the catalyst technologies field. Awardees will work with the company’s contract science team. The amount of funding will range from $500,000 to $1.5 million, depending on the scope and duration of the project.
On July 19, 2012, Global Resource Energy announced plans to partner with the licensor of the MyCroft fuel cell technology. A demonstration fuel cell for sub-licensing is in the works to be available within 120 days.
Over the weekend, Global Resource Energy announced that it had acquired hydrogen fuel cell technologies from Atrius Holdings. The finalized agreement will allow Global Resource Energy to own Atrius Holdings.
With all the positive news releases in the past few days, it is no wonder that Global Resource Energy stock is on the rise. After closing at $0.50 Friday night, it opened this morning at the same price. After rising to a midday high of $0.53, the stock dipped back down to $0.43. It closed at $0.51, attaining a new 52-week high. It added a penny, or 2%, from Friday. The stock has been as low as $0.10 in the past year. The company’s stock was as high as $0.45 throughout April and May 2012. It dropped down to $0.20 on May 4, 2012, and except for a few dips along the way, has been mainly increasing in gains since then. After rising to $0.48 on July 18, 2012, the stock dropped several cents to $0.45 the next day. The stock has seen uphill action since then.
Volume also skyrocketed today, reaching a 52-week high. More than 698,000 shares were traded, far above the daily average of just over 30,000 shares. Today’s high was more than triple the volume on Friday, which was 184,925 shares. The stock has seen a high level of activity since July 10, 2012, when volume was at zero.
After seeing little promotion in the penny stock newsletters since April 2011, Global Resource Energy is now starting to gain the attention of investors after picking up some steam the past several trading days. It was named one of the top three penny stocks to watch today because of its surge in volume. Investors are no doubt anxious about what the next few days will hold for Global Resource Energy. Will the gains continue? Will the company keep issuing press releases to keep the momentum going? It will be exciting to see what tomorrow holds.
