Boston, MA 08/11/2014 (wallstreetpr) – Gastar Exploration Inc (NYSEMKT:GST) has extended the strength of its board of directors from five to seven members. There will be two new independent directors on the board. The new appointments are Mr. Jerry R. Schuyler and Dr. Stephen A. Holditch. The new directors will be a part of Board from August 8, 2014.
Dr. Stephen A. Holditch
The new independent director, Dr. Stephen A. Holditch holds the position of Professor Emeritus at Petroleum Engineering at Texas A&M University. He has remained the Chairman of the Department of Petroleum Engineering at Texas A&M. Dr. Holditch has got years of experience of working on resource recovery. He is a known name in the world of unconventional oil and gas technologies. He started his career with the famous oil company Shell Oil Company. He started S.A. Holditch & Associates in 1977. It was bought by Schlumberger Limited. He had stayed with the company from 2000 to 2003.
Mr. Jerry R. Schuyler
The second new director of Gastar Exploration Inc (NYSEMKT:GST) is Mr. Schuyler. He is a part of the board of directors of Gulf Coast Energy Resources, Inc. and Rosetta Resources, Inc. Mr. Schuyler has got 30 years of experience in the field of management and operations. He is a petroleum engineer. He joined Atlantic Richfield Company long back in 1977 where he served for more than 20 years. He took care of the international and domestic subsidiaries. The other companies he has worked with are St. Mary’s Land & Exploration Company, Dominion Exploration & Production and Laredo Petroleum, Inc.
