After a successful decade-long professional relation with eBay, PayPal is ready to take a separate road. For this, it has started hiring industry leaders who can help it grow further. As per the reports, one of the two new recruits is from Nokia Corporation (ADR)(NYSE:NOK). The other person comes from Singtel.
What’s In Store: PayPal is all set to initiate its journey as an independent public traded company. All the proceedings are expected to close by the end of 2015. PayPal doesn’t want to leave any stone unturned; hence, it has recruited two best industry leaders who can take things forward from here. Both of them will report to the present Chief Executive Officer and President Dan Schulman. According to reports, Jonathan Auerbach and Louise Pentland have extensive industry experience.
Jonathan Auerbach: He has been named the new Senior Vice President of Strategy and growth. He is all set to take the command in his hands on April 27, 2015. He previously worked with Singtel as the Chief Executive Officer of Group Digital Life. Auerbach was responsible for taking care of company’s portfolio of digital businesses spread across the globe. Apart from this, he was also responsible for $250 million worth of venture fund. As soon as he joins PayPal, he will be given the responsibility to work on company’s global strategy and identifying various opportunities through investment, partnerships and acquisitions.
Louise Pentland: He will join on April 27, 2015 as the new General Counsel of PayPal. He has previously worked with Nokia Corporation as Chief Legal Officer and Executive Vice President. His extensive knowledge in commercial and legal matters along with strategic expertise in the mobile technology landscape will help the PayPal in growing further. He will take care of company’s regulatory and financial matters as well as compliance needs around the globe.
