Ford Motor Company (NYSE:F) has announced on Thursday that it will be ordering the regional safety recall of about 830,000 units of 2013-15 Ford C-MAX, 2013-15 Ford Escape, 2012-15 Ford Focus, 2015 Ford Mustang and Lincoln MKC, ane 2014-2016 Ford Transit Connect in North America to replace their side door latches.
The pawl spring tab in the side door latch of the affected vehicles can potentially break, preventing the side door from latching. Should a driver be able to close the side door, it can possibly unlatch while driving. The company has already identified a particular accident and injury reported respectively that may be related to the faulty side door latches.
Ford Motor focuses the recall in Washington, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Nevada, Mississippi, Louisiana, Hawaii, Georgia, Florida, California, Arkansas, Arizona, and Alabama. Dealers will replace the side door latches for free.

Ford Motor Raises $295K For EAA
On Tuesday, the carmaker has revealed that it has sold for a whopping $295,000 the distinct, state-of-the-art Ford Ole Yeller Mustang at the Gather of Eagles charity auction held last week in celebration of the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) AirVenture Oshkosh 2016. The successful bidder was Hank Menke, OFS Brands CEO and President.
The Ford Ole Yeller Mustang is the ninth vehicle specifically designed by the company to support the Gather of Eagles.
All the proceeds from the event will benefit the youth education programs of EAA, which has been providing free introductory flights to aviation aspirants for more than 20 years now.
