Boston, MA 08/14/2014 (wallstreetpr) – Comcast Corporation (NASDAQ:CMCSA) Business has announced the expansion of its commercial fiber network that will provide up to 10 gigabits to underserved commercial enterprises in Kent Washington. The network is expected to avail Comcast Business Ethernet services to more than 150 local business while also providing cost-effective solutions expected to increase speed as well as scale bandwidth on one dedicated network.
Expansion of Fiber Network
Kent Chamber of Commerce CEO, Andrea Keikkala, has already expressed his appreciation towards Comcast Corporation (NASDAQ:CMCSA) for availing the service that is set to be of benefit to underserved commercial areas. Comcast has already promised to focus on expanding its fiber network throughout commercial areas such as Kent Valley. With enhanced access to secure and reliable Ethernet, business looks set to leverage the internet to increase productivity while also providing better customer service.
Comcast Business Ethernet services are currently offered on advanced networks that span 140,000 mile across 39 states. Comcast has more than one million Ethernet-enabled buildings on its network. Comcast has also announced that it will include up to six months complimentary service for new families that have not yet applied for internet essentials.
Free Internet Service
Families that get approved for internet essentials as from now till September 20, 2014 will be eligible to receive up to six months’ worth of free internet service. Comcast Innovative broadband adoption program has already connected more than 350,000 families and about 1.4 million low-income Americans to the internet.
Comcast Corporation (NASDAQ:CMCSA) has also announced an amnesty program for low-income families who might qualify for internet essentials, but are mostly affected by a past balance. Comcast will offer amnesty to families who have a balance that is more than one year old. The company will offer amnesty debt for the purpose of also connecting them to Internet Essentials as long as all eligibility criteria are met.
