As per the information, CVX has decided to offer both the reputed positions to Mary A. Francis. New duties and responsibilities will be effective from May 1, 2015.
Road ahead for Mary A. Francis:
Francis, age 50, will now be responsible for counseling all the senior management employees and board of directors of CVX on various corporate governance matters and current issues. She will take care of all the managerial activities of governance department of CVX and help the Law Function Executive Committee to form CG strategies for the company. Francis has replaced Lydia I. Beebe, who has retired after spending 37 quality years with Chevron Corporation (NYSE:CVX). With authority and power come great responsibility. Same is the case with Francis, who will be expected to take the company on newer heights.
According to John Watson, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the company, Mary is one of the most talented and experienced senior management professionals of the industry. She brings years of leadership experience and expertise in handling governance and law functions on board. It will help the company to reach on new heights and achieve its long term and short term objectives efficiently. Francis joined CVX for the first time in 2002 in Corporation Law Department as a trademark senior counsel. She was promoted to lead senior counsel position in three years time in Chevron Shipping Company. In 2007, she was appointed as managing counsel of Shipping and Pipeline in Global Gas. From here onwards she was given various senior management roles in Chevron Corporation (NYSE:CVX) from time to time.
