Alcatel Lucent SA (ADR) (NYSE:ALU) is introducing OmniSwitch 6860 series, one of the highly advanced gigabit switches in the industry, which feature embedded analytics and ability for programming. These models also carry four 1G PoE ports which have the capability of providing up to 60 Watt Power over Ethernet. It would support next generation equipment like small cells and HD video surveillance cameras which would need high power. The switches, designed for IT teams’ assistance, have all the ports in the front as well as a Bluetooth connection management capability.
