Boston, MA 09/24/2014 (wallstreetpr) – Global communication services provider, Alcatel Lucent SA (ADR) (NYSE:ALU) disclosed that it was expanding its backhaul capacities of its wireless mobile segment so that operators would be able to deploy high-powered ultra-broadband coverage quickly and easily through LTE heterogenous networks or HETNETS. The company indicated that hetnets was a mix of small cell base and macro stations.
The company stated that a new networking unit of full outdoor microwave packet radio or MPR would conserve power and costs even as operators would be able to deliver LTE access everywhere to customers, its statement revealed. It was also improving its backhaul of small cell radio portfolio to competently deliver wireless backhaul in a range of operational situations.
Alcatel Lucent SA (ADR) (NYSE:ALU) said that operators were forced to look out for high-capacity LTE hetnet networks as customers demand were growing for accessing data from anywhere. The LTE hetnet networks provide macro radio coverage supplemented by small cells in black spots coverage. The company said that it was facing biggest challenge to offer backhaul connectivity to a broad network due to the placement of smaller radio cells on doorways, lampposts, and other areas. However, it has found a solution in a comprehensive mobile backhaul portfolio through a mix of fresh microwave networking devices.
Microwave Services Switch – Outdoor
The launch of the Microwave Services Switch – Outdoor or MSS-O to the 9500 MPR family makes it simpler to deploy small cell thus providing more options to mobile operators for placement as they lift link capacity of a backhaul.
Alcatel Lucent said that it was partnering with other backhaul product providers in wireless division to provide help for a variety of small cell backhaul frequency options apart from addressing an even higher range of small cell deployment requirements condition.
Sky Light Research’s Principal Analyst, Emmy Johnson, said that Alcatel Lucent SA (ADR) (NYSE:ALU) was delivering more flexibility to its already impressive mobile backhaul solutions portfolio through the launch of a full outdoor aggregation unit.
